Here is the final piece to the other Twixtor project that I posted a while back. This is truly a fun project, and would love to do something like this again. The biggest downfall to most projects that I work on is finding great composers. So for this short I used a couple of tracks from Brian Tyler’s Battle: Los Angeles soundtrack. Twixtor does get easier not only to edit with, but in shooting as well. It just took a lot of tests and practice.
Again, we shot with the Canon 7D, set at 60p, 1/1000 shutter, and using f2.8 lenses. All shots were locked off on a tripod, and in FCP I zoomed into the clip to about 110% to give me room to zoom in or for panning. I thought about giving a little shakiness to certain clips, but it did not fit the overall look or the film. I had some additional direction from Drew Rodgers. It is always helpful to have another artsy eye helping on projects. Collaboration is so important in the creative process.
